Home-grown chef Martha Stamps has built a reputation and devoted following through her cookbooks, catering and duties in some of Nashville's best professional kitchens. Drop by this tearoom for sweet potato biscuits with country ham and fresh pear chutney, chicken-and-chorizo potpie, or crawfish cakes with rémoulade. Or make a meal of her side dishes: black-eyed pea salad with lemon and garlic, rice salad with apples and golden raisins, spicy kale with stewed tomatoes, baked cheese grits and mashed sweet potatoes. Martha's also serves contemporary sandwiches like Alabama goat cheese with marinated mushrooms, oven-dried tomatoes, field greens and homemade garlic mayonnaise. This onetime lunch-only spot at the historic Belle Meade mansion offers dinner on Thursdays, replete with a respectable wine list.
