THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED A comfortably hip Mecca for the healthy crowd and vegetarians alike, this casual café offers simple California fare with an emphasis on organic ingredients. The truffle macaroni and cheese is very popular: an oversized gratin dish brimming with tangy browned cheese and just a hint of earthy truffle. Several sandwiches and salads are even vegan friendly and are clearly marked so on the menu. The coffees, drip and espresso alike, are also organic and served good and strong. And as the name might suggest, an added bonus is a deli counter stacked high with mason jars filled with home-pickled vegetables sold along with a brisk business of deli salad take-out.
