The 5 Spot Restaurant Review:
The 5 Spot is a neighborhood restaurant that's earned a city-wide reputation for its menu (and décor) that rotates each quarter to feature a different region of America. Dishes change, but the big portions, and mild, likable flavors, remain the same. Previous menu themes have included Festival Baja, Trucking into Texas, Big Food in Little Italy, and American Melting Pot Meals. They have inspired dishes such as four-cheese ravioli with chive pesto, arugula, roasted tomatoes and grilled zucchini; braised brisket; and shrimp enchiladas with a green chile/cheese sauce. On weekends, expect to wait for a table, especially at breakfast when you may order classic morning items or something with a twist, such as french toast topped with dulce de leche and sliced strawberries. A full bar and a wine list of Northwest varietals invite lingering. Service is friendly and accommodating.
