The 5 Spot Restaurant Review: Every quarter this neighborhood restaurant changes its menu (and décor) to feature comfort food from a different region of America. Previous menu themes have included Festival Baja, Trucking into Texas, Big Food in Little Italy and American Melting Pot Meals. These themes have resulted in such dishes as four-cheese ravioli with chive pesto, arugula, roasted tomatoes and grilled zucchini; braised brisket; and shrimp enchiladas with a green chile/cheese sauce. On weekends, expect to wait for a table, especially at breakfast time; that's when you can order classic morning items or something with a twist, such as french toast topped with dulce de leche and sliced strawberries. A full bar and a wine list of Northwest varietals invite lingering. Service is accommodating. |
