| The 5 Spot is a charming neighborhood restaurant with an upbeat ambience and a quarterly-changing menu of regional comfort food. An open kitchen, comfortable wooden booths, and the classic linoleum floor make The 5 Spot feel like a big, noisy family kitchen. Menu themes have included Trucking’ into Texas and Big Food in Little Italy. The regular menu is just as eclectic and features roast chicken, Southern-style country ham, halibut and chips, and tostadas. There’s no telling how many patrons waiting in line for breakfast have a hankering for huevos rancheros or red flannel hash. Service often lands between laid back and challenged, but locals know it’s worth it to go with the flow. |
