Annapurna Cafe Restaurant Review:

Colorful Tibetan prayer flags set the tone for a fun experience, while the friendly owner and her staff are warm and welcoming. Together, they're ready to serve standard Indian fare with many vegetarian options, plus lesser known and hard-to-find Tibetan and Nepalese dishes. Start with momos, Nepal's version of pot stickers, served with three dipping sauces. The squat, round bundles with a pinched swirl on top are stuffed with chicken or spinach. Or try the aloo dum, spicy potatoes cooked Nepalese-style with fresh tomatoes, garlic, cilantro and herbs. Follow this dish with a Himalayan curry with a choice of meats simmered in a sauce redolent with Szechuan peppers, tomatoes and Tibetan herbs. There's also a savory gyatak noodle soup that combines egg noodles with lamb, garlic and tomatoes in a broth topped with a fried egg. Feeling seriously hungry? Order one of the set meals that includes an assortment of curries, pakoras and tandoori meats served with rice, naan and chutneys. A reasonable selection wine and beer is offered to accompany meals.
