A & B Lobster House Restaurant Review:

A & B Lobster House delivers on elegance (white tablecloths, dark wood, candlelight) and a fine dining menu emphasizing seafood and steaks. Classics like oysters Rockefeller, jumbo shrimp cocktail and lobster Thermidor make a winning comeback here (actually, they never left --- this restaurant’s been in business since 1947), and are served with polite but helpful service. Lobster bisque is a bit bland; better to go with New England clam chowder or bouillabaisse. For the gratification of a surf ‘n’ turf combination --- filet with béarnaise, grouper Oscar wrapped in crab or whole steamed lobster --- this is the place to go all out, ending with vanilla bean crème brûlée for dessert. Because of the timeless quality of the menu, it’s a good choice for mixed-aged groups or diners who like to know exactly what they’re getting. Visit Berlin's, an adjacent lounge and cigar bar, for a nightcap befitting a restaurant straight out of an episode of Mad Men.
