Word of mouth has drawn an international clientele to this tucked-away location, offering classic northern French fare. Tiered levels and smallish rooms give it a cozy quality, but it's not casual by any measure. Start with scrambled eggs with hackleback caviar or perhaps greens topped with warm shiitake mushrooms in sherry vinaigrette. Entrées include roasted rack of Australian lamb, traditional coq au vin and Dover sole meunière. End the meal with house-made profiteroles dripping in bittersweet chocolate. The wine list is vast, featuring 350 selections.
