Cock & Bowl Restaurant Review:
Located in the heart of the quaint waterside town of Occoquan, Cock & Bowl restaurant retains much of its Belgian past, when it served up bowls of piping hot, wine-scented mussels. The mussels in various iterations are still there. Plus the kitchen relishes tempting patrons with a host of other Belgian faves, such as beef ribs braised in Belgian beer, chicken breast cooked in a wine and mustard sauce, Belgian frites, and, counted as an entrée, Belgian waffles. And don't forget the list of Belgian brews. In addition, in fair weather outdoor seating in its garden patio is charming, and there’s a lively calendar of music. All in all, a trip here surely ranks high on the list of anyone who loves authentic Belgian food, and it costs a lot less than air fare to Belgium.
