Cork Tree Restaurant Review:

Cork Tree, located in an ordinary strip mall, offers a selection of small plates ranging from mini duck confit tacos to demitasse soup tastings, and it’s more than enough to warrant a second, third and fourth visit. Entrées are eye-catching, too, especially the filet mignon topped with Point Reyes blue cheese butter and surrounded by crispy fingerling potatoes and a seductive Zinfandel reduction. The bar sits adjacent to the dining room and is always crowded yet doesn't impinge on guests. The restaurant’s philosophy begins with the wine list, which is dedicated to California products. Cork Tree’s owners, Joaquin and Sharon Delgado and Ray and Kathi Rodriguez, are familiar faces in the Coachella Valley restaurant scene. The Delgados have headed Las Casuelas Nuevas for more than 25 years, and the Rodriguez family co-developed Casuelas Café.
