Faz Danville Restaurant Review:
Too often, Mediterranean food is served with little to no flair. Thankfully, Faz Poursohi decided over a decade ago that his kebabs, tabbouleh and other Mediterranean delights deserved a whole lot more fanfare. Thus was born the Faz restaurant chain, which offers artistically prepared, traditional Mediterranean dishes --- evoking Italy, Greece and, via such dishes as pomegranate chicken and barg kebab, Poursohi's native Iran --- in a memorable, picturesque setting. The Danville location is built literally around a grove of redwood trees; floor-to-ceiling glass on every side affords views straight into the grove. The interior of the restaurant is done up in granite and copper, with burnished dark woods providing a lustrous gleam. It can be noisy at times, but it is otherwise a lovely setting with an al fresco dining option in warmer weather.
