Frances' Deli Restaurant Review:

This big bustling deli --- at one location or another --- has been feeding Northsiders since 1938, and it remains a real three-meals-a-day food emporium. The omelets at breakfast are bold, beautiful and varied; the triple-decker sandwiches rise high above the plate (we particularly like the avocado turkey club); and the salads are sane and simple. Among the mostly meat dinner choices, there are two in particular that we dote on: the pork tenderloin cutlet and the baked meatloaf. Dinners come with a choice of three side dishes (soup and salad among them), and the options go on for miles: potato pancakes, cranberry sauce, stuffing and homemade mashed potatoes. The thing is, there are respectable burgers, too. Finish with a souped-up sundae or a spiked milk shake if you’re so inclined.
