Haleiwa Joe’s Restaurant Review:
Located at the foot of the Ko'olau Mountains in a lush tropical garden setting, Haleiwa Joe’s is a good choice for special gatherings. It’s where island families gather for Mother’s Day, bridal showers, weddings and other occasions. The bar opens first in the afternoon with a fine selection of cold beers and hot or cold appetizers. Fridays bring live Hawaiian entertainment to while away the warm tropical nights. Dinner offerings are more mainstream than avant-garde, and excel in finding a balance between kama’aina favorites and other dishes (prime rib is always a hit and usually sells out quickly). Fresh fish either grilled, steamed or baked in a macadamia-coconut crust is another reliable choice. Request a table with the best view of the Haiku gardens below the restaurant and perhaps you'll enjoy seeing a waterfall or two.
