The Historic Michabelle Inn & Restaurant Restaurant Review:

THE RESTAURANT AT THE HISTORIC MICHABELLE INN IS OPEN TO GUESTS OF THE INN AND FOR SPECIAL EVENTS ONLY An evening at Michabelle is like a time-trip back to the Old South. Exquisitely appointed dining rooms with shiny wood floors are furnished with simple white-clothed tables within soft-pastel walls. Before you select your appetizer or main course, you choose the room in which you wish to be seated: the Gold room, the Blue room, and the Bacchus room are the options, each a visual treat. Pan-sautéed Louisiana frogs’ legs are complemented by garlic butter, while a seared duck breast is topped with Mandarin sauce. Sea scallops are served with bacon, and a sautéed pork tenderloin pops with the flavor of Creole mustard. For dessert, try the strawberries in orange liqueur with crème. Presentations are simple, with rice and vegetables adorning every main dish. The wine list ranges across the domestic and imported spectrum, and starts at $20 a bottle. Only four are offered by the glass. Some dessert wines also are available, including both ports and ice wines.
