Houston's Restaurant Review:
Houston's is a traditional dining spot in a sprawling, perpetually evolving retail and business complex befitting of its Irvine address. The vibe is casual, yet still a bit romantic with the place’s warm woods, rectangular leather banquettes, dim lighting and overall modern rustic ambience. The compact menu incorporates American steakhouse classics such as Caesar salad, burgers, sandwiches, chops and, of course, steaks. There are also a few modern items sprinkled about among the options, like the emerald kale and rotisserie chicken salad served with a roasted peanut vinaigrette. A handful of sushi rolls is offered, as is a hiramasa sashimi salad. However, most come to Houston's for the aforementioned tender and flavorful steaks, such as the Hawaiian rib-eye, which is marinated for hours and then grilled. The wine list has good selections primarily from California's Sonoma and Napa Valleys, and the restaurant pours a decent array of craft beers.
