Lightfoot Restaurant Review:

The bankers who built and founded Leesburg’s People’s National Bank in 1888 could never have imagined that their ornate offices would emerge in 1999 as a rather retro, upscale restaurant with food that is just short of glamorous. Owner-cook Ingrid Gustavson and her sister Carrie keep a close watch on the eclectic menu, offering their highbrow clientele such whimsies as an appetizer of a creamy tomato soup infused with basil. It’s worth listening carefully to the day’s specials, although the regular menu has its own treasures. We recommend the thick pork chop seasoned with a hoisin-style sauce. Also consider the filet mignon or seared duck. Definitely save room for dessert. If it appears, don’t skip the luxurious quadruple-chocolate butter-dense tart for dessert, but if that’s not offered, you can count on other options being outstanding, too. Visit the upstairs piano bar and on the way out, say farewell to the lifelike wax butler standing near the front door.
