Old Stone Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
A pair of talented brothers, graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, tired of working in corporate kitchens, took over this spot and upgraded the menu and setting. Now, Bill and Marty Pickett present dishes that combine simple country basics with city sophistication; it’s where the pick-up truck and Lexus co-exist. The menu includes buffalo meatloaf, fish ‘n’ chips and freshly baked fruit and berry pies, but it also offers up herb-roasted duck, shrimp and wild boar jambalaya, hand-cut steaks, a changing list of seafood, hamburger ground fresh daily in-house and pan-fried perch and whitefish. It’s all served in a cozy room with a wonderful stone fireplace that’s blazing when it’s cold outdoors. Premium wines are available by the glass and at the retail wine boutique in the front of the restaurant.
