Michael Hirschberg, who opened Siena and the delightful Mescolanza bakery, is a trailblazing Sonoma restaurateur. Siena, an Italian concept, has morphed excitingly into Mistral. Hirschbergs Mediterranean menu features some of the pasta dishes of Siena alongside a Greek spinach salad, house-cured salmon, ahi tuna grilled rare with olive-caper aïoli, and breast of chicken stuffed with ham and Gruyère cheese. The mainly local wine list is astoundingly well priced and is supplemented by esoteric Italian wines. You can enjoy the lovely patio as well.
