Like many sushi places, this sushi spot is all decked out in blond woods and cutsey Japanese décor with the seating arranged by stools at the sushi bar and at tables. Unlike some other sushi places, the sushi chefs love to talk with customers and with each other. However, what it does not offer is anything that is offbeat or different. Nevertheless, with its selection of good sushi combinations, and its interesting sushi specials such as toro (fatty tuna), white tuna and ankimo (monkfish), patrons are assured of a good sushi meal. They can also count on hearty bowls of soup and assorted other Japanese favorites, from tempura to teriyaki. The food is not consistently good, nor does every dish sparkle with creativity, but the staff is pleasant, and the service is competent.
