This small chain is one of the Gold Country’s best bets for fresh seafood. The romanticized story behind the concept is that its original owners’ favorite memories were of fishing trips and eating the day’s catch around an open campfire. The open charcoal grills in the restaurant don’t quite capture the campfire flavor, but the mesquite grilling imparts pretty tasty flavor on the fresh fish dishes.
