THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Monterey Bay Fish Grotto Restaurant Review:
The original Monterey Bay Fish Grotto occupies the top floor of the Jonnet Building. Like its Mt. Washington sister establishment, the restaurant commands a view. But, in its suburban location, the view unfortunately includes the Miracle Mile shopping center parking lot. The menu, though, is an identical twin---impressive numbers and species of fish flown in from the east and west coasts and the Hawaiian Islands. With nearly 20 daily selections, opt for charbroiled or sautéed, with a wide variety of seasonings and sauces. Raves go to the seared ahi tuna and the definitive crab cake. Those not fond of fish can order steak, chicken or pasta. Desserts---cheesecakes, Belgian chocolate truffle cake, turtle pie---are major crowd-pleasers.
