THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mosaics Restaurant Review:

Nestled in the old commercial building at historic Railroad Square, chef-owner Steven Hazell brings his savvy to the south end of town not too far from the SLO County Airport. An ever-changing menu may feature choices like appetizers of fried Black Tiger shrimp in shredded fillo dough with sweet hot sauce, and wild mushroom strudel; entrées of braised duck baked in a casserole of sausage, pork, white bean, green beans, fresh herbs and duck juice; and desserts of warm bread pudding, stacks with cinnamon stick ice cream, and poached pear with black and white pepper-Zinfandel sorbets. There is a corkage fee of $8 or $5 if you buy from Ron Rawlinson's The Wine Guy shop next door; often Hazell and Rawlinson two blend their expertise to create special winemaker dinners.
