This unassuming neighborhood eatery is one of Sacramento's most popular gems, and has held its own despite the onslaught of newer, flashier restaurants. The vibe is upscale but not at all pretentious, as diners come here for the food not the scene. The creative but somewhat limited menu features fresh seafood, meat, poultry and pasta with global influences, all artfully presented, as well as daily specials. Starters may include crab cakes or ahi spring rolls, while mains may include sea bass with fruit salsa, filet mignon or tenderloin of lamb. Or, if you prefer, tell the chef exactly what you're in the mood for, and if they have it, they'll make it just for you. Desserts are a must, and include such delicacies as chocolate mousse cake and lemon chiffon cake.
