Mr. G’s at Peninsula Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review

: Mr G's, the bistro-style restaurant that opened in 2017 along Balboa Island’s main drag, relocated to the Balboa Peninsula. The venue also rebranded as Mr. G’s at Peninsula Kitchen & Bar. Set against a waterfront backdrop, the place features a mélange of approachable dishes with an emphasis on Italian fare. This focus manifests itself in the form of starters like a meatball or calamari fritti as well as a wide array of pasta such as cacio e pepe and shrimp fettuccine. Charred Spanish octopus, Korean-style shaken steak, and a burger with smoked bacon rum marmalade are available, too. Weekend brunch brings options ranging from breakfast tacos to chicken and waffles.
