THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mustang Cafe Restaurant Review:
At lunch time, the dining room of this Irving mainstay fills with cell phone--attached executives who empty the corporate towers and parks that mushroomed on the stretch of prairie between downtown and the airport. Only a reservation can secure a window table overlooking the breathtaking Robert Glen sculpture of larger-than-life mustangs fording a stream. Okay, so it aint the country, but the tree-lined walkway nestled next to the building is an oasis in the concrete-and-granite plaza. Though not made on the premises, pastas are a good choice. For a more Southern twist, try the herb-coated pork tenderloin drizzled with bourbon-spiked molasses. The mood slows at dusk, when the dimmed lights and illuminated sculptures add a tinge of Western nostalgia.
