THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED The New Prospect is cozy and its food comforting. Try the corn-and-shrimp chowder or the Cajun meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes. Vegetarian preparations also get high marks. Weekend brunch features typical brunch items as well as wraps, sandwiches, soups and salads---and a dazzling smoked salmon Benedict. The New Prospect at Home, the bakery around the corner on Seventh Avenue, retains the name but is no longer associated with the café.
