Two centuries past, the residents of Pacific Grove did in fact come here to bathe, but by 1900 it had converted into a restaurant, and it's enjoyed its current incarnation since 1976. The Bath House enjoys a reputation as one of the Central Coast's finest dining experiences---and with good reason. Its luxurious Continental cuisine is prepared in classic fashion, with rich sauces and plenty of butter. We recommend the truffled chicken breast with mushroom ravioli, or perhaps the pan-seared venison over buttered escarole. A four-course early bird menu offers excellent value (approximately $30 without tax or tip) to those who order before 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The 400-label wine list is divided between European varietals and California-grown selections.
