Besides the basic pleasures of a flaky pastry and a coffee or espresso drink to start the day, Old Town Bakery builds a simple but notable lunch menu on a foundation of homemade bread and soups of the day. Whether it's a classic French dip (roast beef drenched in au jus and served with horseradish on French bread), a curried chicken salad, a vegetarian mix, or a build-your-own number from a selection of meats, cheeses and vegetables, everything tastes better on bread fresh from the oven. A cheese window with imported and domestic selections and a small but select array of gourmet products (cured olives, jams, cornichons) let you take home some of the old-world goodness for a special snack or hors d'oeuvre later.
