Ortega'z Southwestern Grill & Wine Bar Restaurant Review:

Having served the downtown area in several incarnations --- gas station and pub to name two --- the little one-story building on Sir Walter Raleigh now offers a comfortable and affordable dining experience without sacrificing flavor or quality. Sit inside in the cool, barnwood-paneled interior or take a seat on the pavestone patio and watch the world walk by. For starters, try the roasted poblano she crab bisque, a twist on a local favorite. Shrimp stuffed with crab meat or Southwestern spring rolls are also good choices, and be sure to sample the house-made flour tortilla chips served with salsa. Ortega'z catch phrase is "Got Guac?" --- you'll want some of that, too. Salads are fresh but are best saved for lunchtime, as are the burgers and wraps. Dinner entrées like seafood paella, char-crusted rib-eye or tequila lime chicken take precedence. If your palate runs more to true Tex-Mex, try the fish tacos or chimichangas. Hope the daily drink special is a watermelon margarita. Ortega'z enjoyed a visit from Guy Fieri and appeared on a 2012 episode of "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives".
