THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Otto Enoteca Pizzeria Restaurant Review

: Located in the faux outdoors of Piazza San Marco in the Grand Canal Shoppes, Otto Enoteca Pizzeria’s “sidewalk” patio seating is a perfect spot to perch and people watch. Forget about Vegas and pretend you’re in Venice by ordering either a quartino or bottle of wine and an assortment of appetizers in true Italian style. Antipasti run the gamut, from house-sliced prosciutto di Parma to eggplant caponata. A combination of any selections makes for a lovely snack, but for a more substantial bite, go with pizza or pasta. Single-serving pizzas are definitely enough for two, and the chewy, griddled, thin crust has even New Yorkers nodding in approval. Toppings range from clams and pepperoncini to the standard sausage and roasted peppers, but a standout is the pleasantly salty prosciutto paired with peppery arugula. Even if it’s not really outdoors, the summery environment makes the coppette --- scoops of gelato with sundae-like toppings --- totally appropriate. The gelato and sorbet selection features a dozen flavors including olive oil, pistachio, graham cracker, blood orange and cara cara. Pair your gelato order with an espresso and you’ve successfully completed the illusion of dining in Italy, Vegas-style.
