Basic American comfort food is what this watering hole and restaurant is all about. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, work in the vicinity or are coming or going to the movie theaters just down the street, then you may appreciate the convenience P.J. Clarke’s offers. We can vouch for the pot roast, meatloaf and baby-back ribs; the burgers are pretty good, too (try them in slider form). Other items on the menu include a slew of salads, fish ‘n’ chips, a bone-in rib-eye and an herb-roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. If you indulge in dessert, go for the apple pie in a bag; it’s chunky, warm and nicely spiced. Also located at 1204 N. State Pkwy., 312-664-1650.
