THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pacific Oriental Restaurant Review:

Lively but civilised, this prime City location has its own micro-brewery in the ground floor bar, which does some snacks and light dishes, but the main dining room is on the first-floor balcony. This is an urbanely masculine dining space---comfortable, poised, well-appointed. Service is unfailingly helpful, informed and correctly polite. The bits of the Pacific the menu draws most heavily on are Japan, China, Indonesia, Thailand and Mexico. So for starters expect to find the likes of lobster and mango sushi; Peking duck spring rolls with hoisin sauce; or quesadilla with salmon, Monterey Jack cheese and sambal. Main courses carry on the theme with dishes like five-spiced rib-eye steak with garlic mash; Chinese spiced lamb rump, grilled pumpkin, shiitakes and anise jus, and Caesar salad with smoked chicken and chilli aioli. Chef Darren Wightman’s cooking is accomplished, but with a frequently changing menu it is inevitable that there are some misses along with the hits. Set 2-course menu £23, 3 courses £27.
