If you’re feeling old-fashioned, or are a good dancer, this is the place to come on a weekend, when the band strikes up and their famous tea dances begin. It takes place in the magnificent Palm Court, all high British Empire Edwardian style and gilded walls. During the week, tea is £18 per person; for the tea dance, you pay £25 per person, or with a glass of Champagne (obligatory we should imagine, with all that exercise), it’s £28 per person.
