Paolo's Restaurant Review

: Paolo’s Georgetown location is right in the heart of things, and patrons often drift in from the sidewalk. The passing pedestrians are part of the entertainment; the other part is the snappy and trendy Italian food. It’s not classical, but somewhat Americanized, with such offerings as duck confit pizza with apple butter coulis and a pulled-roasted chicken salad. There is filet mignon, too, with an asparagus side made with Gorgonzola and walnuts. Check out the wine list, and come by on Wednesday nights for wine at half price. In fine weather, enhanced seating means eating outdoors. At one time, Paolo’s had a higher profile locally, but now it has only two outposts --- a pity for those who appreciate its lusty and unconventional fare and laid-back ambience. Also located at 11898 Market St., Reston, Va., 703-318-8920.
