It isn’t easy to precisely define Pastoral. Sure, you could call it a cheese, bread and wine shop, but with more than 150 varieties of small production American and international cheeses, and a varied selection of charcuterie and hard-to-find wines, that wouldn’t really tell the whole story. Then there are those sandwiches made from first-rate ingredients, along with breads from Bennison’s Bakery in Evanston. Our favorite? The Grant Park grinder with finnochiona, mortadella and coppa, fresh mozzarella, field greens, thin piparras peppers and tomatoes splashed with red wine vinaigrette. Grab a table on the sidewalk patio, or head to neighboring Millennium Park for the full Chicago experience. Also located at 2945 N.
