Custom made for romance, Peter Scott’s is an old-fashioned supper club, the kind of place where you can sip martinis and listen to The Drifters, Leslie Gore or The Platters (all have performed live here). The crowd is a bit older-most men are in jackets-and sophisticated, and the food fits the clientele. Start with the crawfish chowder, then try the Asian marinated grilled duck breast on spicy Thai pasta with a black currant sauce, or the whole Dover sole served tableside with red pepper mashed potatoes. The grilled New York strip loin steak is a big seller, with roasted Portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions and truffle mashed potatoes. Finish with the white chocolate crème brûlée, then dance away the calories.
