THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pho Pasteur Restaurant Review:

One of five locations in the largest chain of Vietnamese restaurants in Boston, this spot has an extensive menu, but for most diners, the lunch of choice is pho, the popular noodle soup, served in huge bowls. We also like the quail appetizer in which the skin of the tiny birds is rubbed with a sweet glaze, and the vermicelli noodles dishes are quite good. When in season, they do a wonderful job with soft-shell crabs tossing them in a spicy mix of jalapeño peppers and lemongrass. Vegans will find a large selection of vegetarian dishes including fresh rolls made with tofu rather than chicken and shrimp. Downtown the customers are almost all Asian, while this Newbury Street location and Harvard Square ply to a more Anglo clientele-in between, the Allston branch plays to a mixed crowd. While the two Chinatown originals share a similar feel, the other three each display a different personality even if all five spots deliver what’s essentially the same fare.
