Pita Cafe Restaurant Review

: Downtown Birmingham shoppers and office workers flock to this affordable spot at lunchtime to savor falafel, hummus, spinach pie and tabbouleh. Vegetarians especially drop in for a quick bite and a raw juice drink; these options include vegetables such as celery or carrot. Smoothies are made from tropical fruits (think guava or mango). We recommend the shish tawook or chicken shwarma, with lentil soup or salad and a side of rice. But it's easy to fill up (happily) on a plate of baba ghanouj with pita bread and a fattoush salad, too. Seafood options include a swordfish kebab and a shrimp kebab, marinated and charbroiled. Those on a budget might want to order a sandwich, many of which are under $5.
