THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Prairie Fire Grill Restaurant Review:
Red pendant lights across the bar and red- and gold-toned walls set a festive mood that is echoed on the plates. Dishes take their inspiration from Southwestern, Southern and Latin cuisines. One taco appetizer filled with beef is graced by a chimichurri sauce, an Argentinean taste. Flavorful braised duck tacos with mushroom, tomato and peppers or the polenta-crusted fried green tomato stack with crab meat are taste treats, too. At lunch, diners might choose a crab cake salad, but it’s hard to top the tender roasted pork tenderloin with sweet potato jalapeño dumplings tossed in a Parmesan cream. Châteaubriand is served over goat-cheese grits with a tomato-mushroom demi-glace. The white chocolate bread pudding is enough to share. The wine list leans to the West Coast, particularly California, with some international selections.
