The Pure Pasty Co. Restaurant Review:
Besides running a food truck in Northern Virginia, this British-inspired eatery has a home base with an open kitchen and limited seating for customers who simply want to munch on a pasty, sip some soup, and watch the chefs creating these delicate, meaty (and one vegetarian) turnovers. With seven standard pasty options, you’ll be hard-pressed to select from among the various fillings. Want something Indian? The Cornish Masala is a delicately seasoned nod to the subcontinent’s cooking. But the traditional version, stuffed with grass-fed beef, potatoes, Vidalia onions and butternut squash, takes you back to home cooking and memories of family comfort food. Other options include the sausage roll, a chef’s special and a chicken Provençal. Add one of the house-made salads to your order, and your meal is set. Best of all, all the pasties are available for home heat baking, with instructions included.
