RA Sushi Bar Restaurant suggests a nightclub, with pulsating loud music and lots of youngish patrons checking out the opposite sex. Sushi enthusiasts will probably prefer a different sort of experience, but that doesn't mean you can't eat well here. The Viva Las Vegas Roll is the most popular of the jazzy sushi rolls, perhaps because it sports so many ingredients. Sweet eel sauce seems to find its way onto many of these nontraditional rolls. We prefer simpler preparations, and there's plenty of sashimi and nigiri sushi. Those looking for crossover adventure dining will want to test the Asian tacos, which combine Asian and Latin flavors in a rice paper shell, so wasabi complements guacamole. We recommend the clam udon, for which steamed clams are served over udon rice noodles. Vegetarian patrons may enjoy the vegetable tempura and the very good miso soup. Values include the lunchtime sashimi assortment, which earns you four slices each of three fish with a bowl of rice. Or grab a bento box with tempura, teriyaki or katsu. Try the fried banana maki for dessert. For quaffs, have a Sapporo or a chilled saké, as the wine list is ordinary. Happy hour is extensive: Monday-Saturday from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. and from 10 p.m. to close, and Sunday from 8 p.m. to closing. Drink and appetizer specials are offered during those times.
