THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ramblas Restaurant Review:

Ramblas may not win for best tapas, but as a package deal, the bar/restaurant has won the hearts of many twenty- and thirty-somethings The restaurant has some caché in its behind the scenes team that also owns and operates the tapas-centered ThirstyBear Brewery. Inside Ramblas, tapestries and mosaics provide a sense of historic Barcelona while wood columns, colorful tables and rich red walls pull the room into the modern era. Tasty and well-priced handcrafted beers, sparkling sangría and Spanish wines provide a consistency that the menu does not. A classic combination of salty manchego cheese and membrillo, a sweet preserve of quince could be considered a standby. Fried potatoes with spicy tomato sauce can range from pallid to perfect. Marinated sardines are briny and sharp while tuna paired with tomatoes is bland and over-cooked. All the small plates are better thought of as superlative bar food rather than enlightened Spanish cuisine.
