Native Washingtonians know Reeves as a city landmark---a favorite destination since 1886. It offers an array of savory dishes, from serious breakfast platters, deli sandwiches and hefty burgers to crunchy fried chicken and veal Parmigiana (all available to eat downstairs in the dining room or to-go). But it's probably best known for its baked goods, especially its pies. The strawberry pie lives up to its standout reputation. The cherry, blueberry and lemon pies are also scrumptious. Cakes are certainly not chopped liver---everything from cheesecake to old-fashioned devil's food is made with extreme care and precision.
