: The legendary North End pizzeria decided more than 20 years ago to franchise and expand to the suburbs and within the city. Exporting nostalgia remains a challenge as the pies don’t even come close to replicating the flagship restaurant’s real deal---crispy yet chewy crusts with a light and tangy Romano sauce topped with aged whole-milk mozzarella and a signature drizzle of garlic oil. Mall shoppers who don’t want to go into the city can get a similar taste of the North End with the pollo Regina pie with ricotta, Parmesan, Romano and mozzarella cheeses, topped with chicken breast and roasted tomatoes. There are also garden and Caesar salads available along with a vegetarian white pizza full of mushrooms, green peppers, onions, black olives, zucchini and mozzarella. |
