Rhode Island restaurant Chelo's offers up its take on a sports bar with Rhody Joe's. Whereas Chelo's has the bright, open and family-friendly feel of a diner, Rhody Joe's boasts a woody and rustic atmosphere, far more bar-like than its cousin. But Rhode Islanders will recognize many of the signature Chelo's menu items, including the roast beef sandwiches, chili and New England clam chowder. The dessert menu is best known for its cakes and pies, notably a four-layer chocolate fudge cake. Adults-only delights include a Milky Way Martini made with Godiva chocolate liqueur and Baileys Irish Cream, and a root beer float swirled with Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka. The big rectangular bar, flanked by high-top tables and ringed with high-definition TVs, is a good place to catch a game. In addition to two dozen beers on tap, Rhody Joe's offers $1.99 domestic drafts daily as well as $3.99 house margaritas. The location on the South County Bike Path makes this a popular lunch spot for cyclists.
