Riva Restaurant Review:
The un-showy exterior belies the extremely serious intent of Andreas Riva's North Italian gastronomic haven, which attracts celebs in discreet droves. The menu is seasonally led, and always noteworthy. Try the likes of baby squid with wild fresh herbs, or go the whole hog for the generous mixed fish antipasto---sapori Mediterranei. Equally, meat dishes like roast lamb are of impressive tenderness. Alongside Italian standards of panna cotta and tiramisu, some inventive ice creams stand out among desserts. The austere, narrow room decorated with architectural prints can seem intimidating, especially as service definitely favours the many regulars. The all-Italian wine list is long and interesting with plenty of grappas.
