THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Riva Restaurant Review:

A sibling to the downtown seafood staple, this west suburban outpost---located just off of I-88 with a view of the passing cars---lacks the visual pizzazz of its ancestor, but the space is handsome nonetheless. Dark wood, a sweeping, curvaceous dining room and gauzy curtains---plus a (preferable) pond view from some tables---make it easy to forget the office complex locale. That is, until you hear folks at the next table talking jovially about mergers and acquisitions. The menu is quite fine, beginning with the duck confit. Resting on a bed of curly endive with Valencia oranges, almonds and pomegranate reduction, it’s something to write home about. Seafood is a specialty, and the grilled grouper is very good, too. Moist and flaky inside, it makes fine bedfellows with cranberry beans, buttery Brussels sprouts and pepper-punched Dijon vinaigrette. Service is polished and the wine list is above average.
