: From the proprietors of the longstanding Crabtree Kittle House in Chappaqua, this upscale contemporary-rustic restaurant emphasizes farm-to-table New American cuisine. The on-site market and adjacent wine shop share the same philosophy. The dining room, characterized by a ceiling and floors, tables and chairs crafted from vintage, reclaimed or locally sourced woods and antique doors from Belgium, is warm and inviting. Appetizers are creatively prepared; oysters come chilled with apple cider sorbet or are roasted in the wood oven and flavored with Sugar Hill Farm chorizo butter and Hemlock Hill smoked bacon. Pastas such as green herb pappardelle tossed in a slow-braised Hudson Valley lamb ragù seasoned with fresh mint and olives is savory and hearty. Sweet, citrus and roasted flavors come together seamlessly in a Cavendish farms barbecued quail with kale and carrot salad, Wild Hive polenta and grilled peaches. Thompson’s Cider Mill spiced apples in a butter pastry crust served with vanilla bean ice cream, and shortbread cookies with hibiscus glaze and mint-topped house-made yogurt sorbet are highlights among the comforting home-style desserts. The meticulously chosen wine list is comprised of biodynamic and organic selections that work well with the menu.
