: Operated by a group of young and devoted cooks and servers, suburban Frederick’s Roasthouse Pub, which may be as much about locally brewed beers as it is about food, is also a shirtsleeves kind of place, but one with a sophisticated downtown menu. Appetizers might include fried duck-bacon wontons with a spicy dipping sauce or the tamer crab dip. Main courses bring the standard burger, or you can try the unique avocado and Brie sandwich. If you are into hot and spicy, go for the unique (and filling) fried pork belly tacos with diced mangoes. Desserts are just as offbeat: butterscotch bread pudding or the hot brownie topped with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream and Thai chilies. Twenty brews are offered in shot or regular glasses. |
