Rockyard Brewing Company Restaurant Review:

Until now most Denverites headed to Castle Rock to take advantage of the town’s outlet shopping opportunities. But these days there’s another reason for heading south to this bargain-blessed burg---craft beer. Rockyard’s Wayne Waananen is making some of the Front Range’s best beers, flavorful ales that will thrill even the most demanding beer nerd. And he couldn’t have a nicer setting to do so, as this brewpub is a spacious lodge-style place with food as satisfying as the brew. The menu offers top-shelf takes on pub fare, starting with a selection of killer nibbles. We swirl over the homemade onion rings, three-finger thick circles dipped in doughy deep-fried batter. The burgers are juicy and cooked just right, the list of grade-A sandwiches includes a foot-long beer dog that fills. Pasta plates and entrées of beef, bird and fish are mighty fine. The beer list? Don’t miss the hoppy pale ale, the hefty darker beers and the changing list of seasonals.
