Rodney Scott's BBQ Restaurant Review

: Charlestonians no longer need to make the 90-mile drive to Hemingway to sample Rodney Scott's famous whole-hog barbecue. Savor the porky goodness in a sandwich or on a plate, or order it by the pound. You’ll also find slabs of spare ribs, BBQ chicken, fried catfish fillet, rib-eye sandwiches and banana pudding for dessert. From-scratch sides include hush puppies, fries, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and potato salad. Check the board for beer and wine options.

GAYOT's Annual Restaurant Awards honor America's best chefs, as well as promising newcomers and a top restaurateur.
